It uses patented non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology to measure the concentrations of seven gases (hydrogen, methane, ethane, ethylene, acetylene, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide) in transformer oil, as well as moisture content. This information is used to calculate key parameters such as the oil condition, the rate of gas formation, and the severity of any faults or failures.
