About SST-PB3-CLX
The SST-PB3-CLX module is a Profibus scanner module that has been manufactured by Allen-Bradley and Woodhead in the SST product line. The SST-PB3-CLX Profibus scanner module has been designed to work with the Honeywell PlantScape system and with the Allen-Bradley 1756 ControlLogix backplane. Its primary function is to support communication between DP remote I/O devices and a CLX processor. It allows the CLX processor to communicate long-distance with the DP remote I/O devices through the Profibus network, which makes it a remote Profibus scanner. The SST-PB3-CLX Profibus scanner module can support 1 output connection and up to 15 connections that are listen-only connections. It can be installed in either a local or remote CLX chassis, and it can be installed in any of the available slots in these chassis.
The Allen-Bradley and Woodhead SST-PB3-CLX Profibus scanner module can support Profibus master and slave operation simultaneously. It can handle all of the standard Profibus baud rates including 9600 baud, 19.2 kbaud, 31.3 kbaud, 45.4 kbaud, 93.8 kbaud, 187.5 kbaud, 500 kbaud, 1.5 Mbaud, 3 Mbaud, 6 Mbaud, and 12 Mbaud. The SST-PB3-CLX Profibus scanner module is configured with the SST Profibus configuration tool which allows it to have up to 4 pages that contain 248 words of input data and another 4 pages that contain 246 words of output data. The SST-PB3-CLX Profibus scanner module is made to operate in the Asynchronous Operating Mode. Its hardware features include an LCD screen for displaying the firmware and error messages, LED indicators, a configuration port, and a 9-pin Profibus connector.
